Privacy Policy

What We Collect

When you use Result.Law, we collect the information you enter in our assessment forms. Depending on which tool you use, this may include:

• Traffic ticket tool: your state, violation type, estimated fine, driving record details, and court date
• Medical bill tool: your state, bill type, amount billed, insurance status, and hospital type. We treat medical-related information with heightened care and do not use it for any purpose other than generating your assessment.
• Student loan tool: your state, loan balance range, income range, family size, repayment plan, and employment type. We do not collect your Social Security number, loan account number, or any credentials.
• Case Check tools (car accident, work injury, disability denial, workplace issues) and the debt lawsuit tool: your state and the details you provide about your situation. Your free plan never requires your name, phone, or email. If you choose to request contact from a participating law firm, or to email yourself a copy of your plan, we additionally collect the contact details you provide for that specific purpose.
• Attorney-availability list: if no participating firm is available and you ask to hear when one is, we collect your name, phone, email, and ZIP code for that purpose only. We do not share these details with any law firm unless you later agree to a specific, named firm.

We also collect your email address if you choose to provide it for follow-up, and your IP address and browser information automatically.

If you make a payment, Stripe processes your payment information. Result.Law does not store credit card details.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate your assessment and deliver your plan
• To send follow-up emails about your saved assessment if you provide your email (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To process payment for the optional debt lawsuit response document
• To deliver your contact details to the one specific law firm you named and consented to, if you use a Case Check or debt lawsuit product’s optional connect request
• To contact you, if you joined the attorney-availability list, when a participating attorney becomes available for your situation
• To improve our analysis quality
• To comply with legal obligations

How We Share Your Information

We share information only with:

• Stripe — to process payments securely
• Anthropic — our AI provider, which processes your assessment details to generate your plan. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
• SendGrid (Twilio) — our email delivery provider, used to send the plan emails you request and assessment follow-up emails. SendGrid receives your email address for this purpose.
• Google and Microsoft — analytics and advertising-measurement tools (see Cookies below).
• A participating law firm — only for Case Check and debt lawsuit products, only the single firm named on the consent screen you saw, and only if you affirmatively check that consent box. We never share your contact details with more than one firm per request, and never without this consent. Participating firms pay Result.Law for these referrals; you do not pay Result.Law for this.
• Law enforcement or courts — if required by law

Data Retention

Assessment session data is stored to deliver your plan. If you provide your email address, your assessment and contact information are retained to send follow-up emails until you unsubscribe or request deletion. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing privacy@result.law.

Paid assessment results are retained so you can access them again. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data (no personal information) to improve our service.

For Case Check and debt lawsuit connect requests, we keep a record of the exact consent you gave (the firm named, the consent text, and when you gave it) as a permanent, unchangeable audit record — this protects you by proving what you actually agreed to. You can still request deletion of your contact details from our active systems by emailing privacy@result.law; the audit record of the consent event itself is retained for compliance purposes.

Attorney-availability list entries are kept until a participating attorney becomes available for your situation or you ask us to remove you — email privacy@result.law.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, and to request deletion of your personal information.

We do not sell or share personal information for money or other valuable consideration, except: if you use a Case Check or debt lawsuit product and affirmatively opt in to request contact from a participating law firm, that firm pays Result.Law for the referral, which may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the CCPA. You can decline this at any time by not checking the consent box — your free plan is complete either way and nothing is shared without it. This is the only circumstance in which we share personal information in exchange for payment.

Cookies

We use session cookies to maintain your assessment between the questionnaire and results pages, and we store your light/dark display choice in your browser.

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, and the Google Ads tag to measure the performance of our ads. These tools may set cookies and collect information such as pages visited, clicks, device, and approximate location.
